Dog Session Specific Q’s
-
We’ll spend a few moments at the beginning to let your pet get the wiggles out, scope out the studio, and get familiar with myself and my assistant.
Then, it’s time for action. We’ll begin by shooting solo portraits of your dog. This will help them understand the game we’re going to play during the session.
From there, we will take pictures of you, your family, and your dog. We will go through different poses and setups. During this time, humans will focus their attention towards the camera and my team will do their job at getting your dog’s attention.
We will need some short refreshers for your four-legged friend throughout the session. This will help them maintain focus when they are in front of the camera.
-
We’re able to work with many kinds of dogs to bring out their charm, whether they are naturally charismatic or a touch on the shy side.
As long as your dog is well-behaved in public spaces and receptive to commands, we’ll have an amazing session with lots of picture options to consider at the end.
If your dog is a potential risk to cause harm, we unfortunately ask not to book a session.
-
Get your pupper picture perfect by giving them a good brushing beforehand. Grooming will not only have them looking great, but it will also help you look your best by lowering the amount of shedding.
Help them maintain their energy level by taking them for a walk beforehand. This will allow them to expel some nervous energy and take care of business.
-
Let’s make your fur baby shine by keeping their attention towards the camera. This includes many tasty snacks, a special toy, using those special words that grab your dog’s attention (my dog perks up with the word “turkey”).
Also give a think towards what your dog is wearing. Dress up your dog with a special collar, accessories or even clothes. Just make sure to remove any items with identifiable information like a dog tag with a phone number.
If your dog has long hair, bring a brush to set for touch-ups in between takes.
-
To best show the bond between you and your furry friend, you will be posing on level with your dog. This means you will be posed in crouching and sitting positions for most of the session. Most individuals feel most comfortable wearing pants.
Additionally, plan for pieces and colors that don’t noticeably show dog hair. If you have a dog with long, lighter-colored fur, solid black clothes will greatly show transferred hair.
